One hundred years from now
It won't matter who you thought you were,
Who I thought you were,
How much money you had,
What kind of truck you drove,
How many cattle you had,
Or how many bulls you rode,
Nor who yer daddy was,
But it will matter if you knew Jesus.

Precessing the Deer

Now that Clint and Landon got two deer, we had to process them. And luckily, we don't have to pay to have it done. Pappo has everything necessary for processing meat in the kitchen in his garage. He and Hunny used to run a store with a meat market in it when they first got married and he still has it all. We ended up with about 50 lbs of meat for sausage, 16 lbs for chili meat, lots of jerky, and best of all lots of steaks and back strap. Clint and I helped Pappo do it all, and Landon of course had to help too. He was so cute. I mostly did the tenderizing of the steaks, and tieing of the sausage. Cody came and helped with the sausage when he got off work. We will have lots of deer meat to eat for the next year, which is great because meat is soooo expensive at the store, and I know whose hands have been on this meat and where the animal came from. :)

Landon helped Pappo tie the bags of deer chili meat

and he helped Daddy tie the bags too.

he carried sausage links to me and Daddy so we could tie them for hanging in the smoke house

he also helped Codeman hand crank the sausage stuffer. he was actually a big helper. he didnt get in the way or anything. he likes to be a "big helper" :)

{sorry for the poor quaility pics...they were taken on my poor quality cell phone, I actually went somewhere without my camera for once :)}
